Little Pomegranates will be closed for a 2-week vacation each summer; dates are announced annually. In the case of inclement weather, we follow Montgomery County Public Schools’ scheduled closings during the school year and local official weather advisories during the summer. Communications of closures are sent at least 12 hours before opening.
7:30 AM – 8:00 AM: Arrival and individual activities (story time, songs, etc.); 8:30 AM – 9:15 AM: Circle time; 9:15 AM – 10:15 AM: Outdoor play; 10:15 AM – 10:30 AM: Morning snack; 10:30 AM – 11:00 AM: Music and dance; 11:00 AM – 11:30 AM: Education or arts and craft; 11:30 AM – 12:00 PM: Lunch; 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM: Transition to sleep; 12:30 PM – 2:30 PM: Quiet time or nap; 2:30 PM – 3:30 PM: Afternoon snack; 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM: Free play; 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM: Outdoor play and pick-up.
Meals and snacks during care time are provided. Healthy and nutritious meals and snacks include breakfast, lunch, and two snacks per day with milk, fresh fruits and vegetables, protein, and whole grains. Weekly menus are posted.
A daily rest period of at least one hour is scheduled after lunch. Infants under 12 months nap in cribs, are monitored every 15 minutes, have no soft bedding, and are always placed on their backs to sleep.
Infants: $470/week. Toddler: $450/week. Preschool – 12 years old: $440/week.
Payments are twice a month: the first payment is due between the 1st to 3rd of the month and the second payment is due on the 15th to the 18th. If payments are not received by the due dates, a late fee of $5 applies daily.
To secure and hold a spot, we require a two-week deposit applied to your child’s last two weeks of care, provided all terms are met. A two-week written notice is required; without the required notice, the deposit is forfeited.
Families receive a $20 permanent discount for enrolling additional siblings for the second and third child. Parents also receive a one-time referral discount of $50 for referrals that stay at least 3 months.
Acceptable payment methods are check, Zelle, or Venmo.
Children should NOT be brought if they exhibit fever over 99°F; persistent cough or difficulty breathing; diarrhea or vomiting within the last 24 hours; contagious diseases; unexplained rashes; conjunctivitis; head lice or scabies; or other symptoms suggesting acute illness.
COVID-19 precautions require that a child must not attend until symptom-free and have a documented negative COVID-19 test (RT-PCR) post-recovery.
A child may return after being symptom-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medications, or with a doctor’s note.
Medication will only be administered with proper written instructions from a physician. All medication must be in the original container. Sunscreen, bug repellent, and diaper cream are the only items allowed without a doctor’s note.
Guardians must provide an Epinephrine Auto-injector (Epi-pen) if a child has severe allergies and provide a comprehensive list of allergies prior to enrollment.
Prior notice is required for drop-off or pick-up by anyone listed on the emergency form, and ID is required.
No one that is NOT listed on the emergency form can pick up a child.
Required forms include: Health inventory, Lead Addendum; Emergency Card; Contract/Enrollment Form; Immunization Records; Field Trip/Transportation Permission.
A trial period of 1 day is in place for new enrollments.
Termination policy includes nonpayment or late payment past 1 month from the due date; 3 absences without notice; disrespect to the provider’s home, environment, children, or families; destruction of provider’s property; and other listed items. Two weeks’ notice is required prior to terminating the relationship by either party. This establishment and its provider do not tolerate bigotry, hate, discrimination, bullying, or harassment from guardians.
Holiday Closings (Paid Holidays): New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day; Martin Luther King Jr. Day; President’s Day; Persian New Year (Spring Equinox – either March 20th or March 21st); Memorial Day; Independence Day; Labor Day; Columbus Day; Veterans Day; Thanksgiving and the day after Thanksgiving; Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. If a holiday falls on Saturday, daycare is closed the Friday before. If a holiday falls on Sunday, daycare is closed the following Monday.
We are committed to the inclusion of all children, including those with disabilities and special needs. If your child has a documented health care need or special educational requirement, please provide a copy of the IFSP or IEP. All information regarding a child’s special needs will be kept confidential.
For children under 24 months, screen time is strictly avoided. For children aged 24 months and up, passive screen time is limited to a maximum of 30 minutes per week. For children aged 2–5 years, screen time is not more than 1 hour per day.
We focus on positive discipline to encourage children to develop self-confidence, respect for others, and the skills they need to thrive. Our approach includes modeling positive behavior, structured routine, parent partnership, and understanding individual needs. Strategies include options within boundaries, redirection, reinforcing positive behaviors, problem solving, reflection opportunities, calm environment, and de-escalation techniques.
Parents provide diapers, wipes, and a change of clothes. The provider supplies educational materials, general hygiene products, meals, and snacks. Weekly lesson plans are based on ‘Health Beginnings’ and ‘Maryland Early Learning Standards.’ Daily communication occurs during arrival and pick-up, and formal conferences are held twice a year. Regular observations track each child’s development and use CDC’s Developmental Milestones Checklist. No daily commuting services are available. Transportation is provided for field trips and other activities outside the facility with signed consent forms.
